Mirandas Tips & Tricks - Sustainability
I believe that we all have a part to play in helping to take care of our planet, and I am committed to providing products that are not only healthy and POWERFUl, but also kind to the environment. This philosophy is woven into everything we do—from the ingredients we use, to the way we manufacture and package our products.

Miranda's Tips & Tricks - REDUCE. REUSE. REPLENISH.
Earlier this year we launched the Turmeric Glow Moisturizer… a launch I was super excited about, not just because of how incredible the formulation is, but also because it was the launch of our first refillable product. It really is the crème de la crème of all face creams.
I’m incredibly passionate about sustainability being top of mind in all that we do at KORA. My commitment and vision are not only in using certified organic and ethically farmed ingredients, but also ensuring we design and implement sustainable packaging for our products. To minimize environmental impact, with all of our new products, we are transitioning to more sustainable packaging, such as recyclable glass bottles and refillable pods.
When you look around your home, I’m sure you will find a multitude of ways to reuse household packaging—here are a few of the tips and tricks I use around my home with my KORA products. And if you can’t reuse, remember to recycle! If we all make small changes to reduce, reuse or recycle it will make a huge impact on the health of our planet.
Candle vessels
I love to burn candles throughout my home, when finished I use the glass vessels in my bathroom to house makeup brushes and other items. Flynn also paints them for our family and friends, as it’s a beautiful and unique gift to give that can be used to plant succulents or herbs in. I also love a DIY candle kit company that allows you to reuse your candle vessels.
Jars and pots
Glass jars and pots, such as the one I designed for the Turmeric Glow Moisturizer, are perfect to repurpose to keep trinkets safe or keep vitamins in to take throughout the day.
Bottles
The Minty Mineral Hydration Mist and Milky Mushroom Gentle Cleansing Oil and other glass bottles can make perfect vases to hold flower stems or buds.
Here are some of the other eco-friendly choices we make in our household:
- We buy locally produced organic fruit, vegetable and meat products at the local farmers markets.
- We use reusable organic cotton grocery bags and environmentally friendly cleaning and household products.
- We recycle and have a compost bin.
- We turn off lights and electrical items when not in use, and opt for warmer clothing before using heating devices.
- We are conscious of our water consumption and have an efficient irrigation system called Skywater 300 Atmospheric Water System.
- We limit plastic in our household. I avoid single use plastic where possible, using Keep Cups and reusable glass water bottles/containers.
- We teach our children about sustainability and lead by example. Flynn has been immersed in a sustainable way of life from a young age, and it’s also the way we are raising Hart and Myles. Through learning about nature, the environment and animals, along with natural and organic ingredients he understands the origin and source of many products. I try to avoid plastic toys and gadgets, deferring to more engaging and environmentally friendly activities, such as reading, playing outside, wooden toys, musical instruments.
I’d love to hear your tips and what you do at home or at work to live more sustainably.
Much love,
Miranda xxx
